February Arctic Blast

A strong arctic cold front swept across the area Wednesday, February 12th, causing temperatures across the region to plummet. The strong winds lead to wind chill advisories and warnings being issued for Minnesota. Thursday morning lows were between -10 and -15 with gusts from 20 to 30 mph leading to wind chills in the -30s. Noontime temperatures on Thursday the 13th were 25 to 30 degrees colder than they were on Wednesday. Friday morning temperatures were cold again, ranging from -10 to -20, but warmed up into the mid to upper teens as southerly winds brought warmer air to the area.
