June 25, 2016: Phew – It’s hot out there!

If you stepped outside at all on Saturday June 25, 2016, you might have thought: “It is definitely summertime in Minnesota!” Check out the map below of the Heat Indices at just 11:00 AM. That’s right, we had widespread heat indices in the 90s!
Now check out this map from just two hours later. We broke 100 oF heat index in many locations around the state. The highest heat index we saw occurred right around 3:00 PM with 104 oF. Virtually every station across central Minnesota have heat indices above 100 degrees.
